LOS ANGELES — Veteran umpire Gary Cederstrom is the crew chief of the umpiring crew for the National League Championship Series between the Dodgers and Cubs, Major League Baseball announced on Saturday.

The Dodgers and Cubs begin the 2016 NLCS on Saturday night at Wrigley Field in Chicago, with Game 1 slated to start at 5:08 p.m. PT.

Cederstrom has been a major league umpire since 1989, and this will be his seventh League Championship Series. He has also worked three World Series, seven Division Series and a pair of Wild Card Games. He was also the crew chief for the 2015 NLDS between the Dodgers and Mets.

Other NLCS umpires include regular season crew chief Ted Barrett, along with Paul Nauert, Eric Cooper, Angel Hernandez, Alfonso Marquez and Bill Welke.

Welke is the replay official for Games 1-2, switching places with Nauert for Games 3-7. Tripp Gibson is the replay assistant for both the NLCS and ALCS.

Here are the Game 1 assignments for the NLCS:

Home plate: Paul Nauert
First base: Eric Cooper
Second base: Gary Cederstrom
Third base: Angel Hernandez
Left field: Alfonso Marquez
Right field: Ted Barrett

Replay: Bill Welke
