LOS ANGELES — Among the sellout crowd at Dodger Stadium for Game 5 of the National League Championship Series between the Dodgers and Cubs was Hall of Fame broadcaster Vin Scully, a little less than three weeks after his retirement.
The Dodgers had Scully deliver his iconic “It’s time for Dodger baseball” from a suite, which got the Dodger Stadium crowd in a frenzy just before the first pitch.
Scully, whose remarkable 67-year career ended with the Dodgers’ regular season finale on Oct. 2 in San Francisco, called his last home game on Sept. 25, when Charlie Culberson’s walk-off home run clinched the National League West.
Game 5 is believed to be his first game at Dodger Stadium as a spectator.
