PHOENIX -- The Dodgers before Sunday's games optioned Zach Lee to minor league camp, one of a series of moves that put the fifth starter competition in shambles. What was a three-man race between Mike Bolsinger, Brandon Beachy and Lee was seemingly down to Bolsinger, with Beachy sidelined at least a few days.
Beachy, who has had two Tommy John surgeries in his career, is dealing with more right elbow issues.
Brandon Beachy said he has mild tendinitis and is confident it is not serious. Will take a few days off.

As @kengurnick reported, Brandon Beachy has some inflammation in his surgically repaired elbow. He is getting a few days off to rest.

Bolsinger was the last man standing among the fifth starters, but he was a last-minute scratch against the Padres at Camelback Ranch. Instead, Jeremy Kehrt started in his place.
Bolsinger was the most effective of the three pitchers this spring, and made 21 starts for the Dodgers in 2015.
Bolsinger has abdominal tightness, day to day.

For now, we wait on news on the severity of Bolsinger's injury, with Lee potentially back in the mix even though he was optioned.
