PHOENIX -- Neither Kiké Hernandez nor Alex Guerrero played in either of the Dodgers' two split squad games on Saturday, both dealing with injuries for the better part of the week.
Hernandez has soreness in his side from getting hit by a pitch last Sunday against the Padres and hasn't played since Thursday. Manager Dave Roberts said Hernandez is getting better and is expected to play soon, though as we've seen throughout this spring that doesn't exactly have a specific timetable.
Hernandez was hit by a pitch from Luis Perdomo in between his armpit and belt in the sixth inning last Sunday. He played in two more games later in the week, both starts at shortstop.
Guerrero is still dealing with left knee soreness, the same injury that caused him to miss eight days earlier in the spring. Guerrero hasn't played since Monday, and in Cactus League play has only played nine games and amassed 21 plate appearances this spring.
These two join the list of injured Dodgers position players, along with Yasmani Grandal (forearm), Corey Seager (knee), Howie Kendrick (calf) and Yasiel Puig (hamstring). Puig was a scratch from the lineup from Saturday's day game in Peoria.
