Sunday saw a couple Dodgers minor league rehab assignments conclude, and saw more strong pitching from Oklahoma City.
Player of the day
Jeremy Kehrt, who made 22 starts for Double-A Tulsa in 2015, made his first Triple-A start since 2014 on Sunday, and pitched six scoreless innings for Oklahoma City in Nashville. The 30-year-old right-hander allowed just three singles and a walk while striking out two.
Triple-A Oklahoma City
Behind Kehrt's pitching, OKC beat the Sounds (Athletics) 3-1, helped by two hits out of the leadoff spot by Elian Herrera, who played shortstop on Sunday. Yasmani Grandal caught six innings and drove in a run via sacrifice fly in his fourth and final rehab game with Oklahoma City.
Double-A Tulsa
The Drillers suffered their third shutout loss in four games, falling 3-0 to the San Antonio Missions (Padres). Scott Barlow made his Double-A debut* and struck out six without a walk in five innings, but suffered the loss thanks to three unearned runs. Jacob Scavuzzo was 2-for-4 with a double.
*Barlow made one spot start for Triple-A at the end of the 2015 season as well
Class-A Rancho Cucamonga
The Quakes dropped their series finale to the Lake Elsinore Storm (Padres), 7-6, recapped by Craig Minami on Sunday night.
Howie Kendrick doubled twice and played nine innings at second base in his fourth and final rehab game. He will join Grandal in Los Angeles, with both likely to be activated for Tuesday's home opener.
Class-A Great Lakes
For the third time in four days the Loons and Lansing Lugnuts (Blue Jays) were postponed by bad weather. Sunday's game will be made up on May 20, the next time Lansing is back in Midland.
