Kyle Garlick has a three-home run night; Quakes win 12-5

It was a clean sweep on Monday night as all four Dodger affiliate won including Tulsa sweeping a doubleheader.

Player of the day

Quake outfielder Kyle Garlick hit three home runs including one of the inside-the-park variety.  Garlick, who also singled, scored three runs and drove in six runs.

Triple-A Oklahoma City

The Dodgers won 6-2 over the Sounds (Athletics) behind solid pitching and early run scoring.  Zach Lee won his third game but gave up 10 hits in 5⅓ innings.  Matt West, Luis Avilan and Chin-hui Tsao pitched well out of pen.

Rob Segedin had three hits, Austin Barnes, Alex Hassan and Brandon Hicks each had two hits.

Double-A Tulsa

The Drillers took a pair of games from the Missions (Padres), winning the first game 10-3 and then tossing a shutout in their 2-0 win.  Brock Stewart had a solid Texas League debut in the second game, pitching five innings and giving up no runs, three hits, two walks and eight strikeouts.

In the 10-3 win, Chase De Jong won his first game of the year, going five innings and striking out four.  Kyle Farmer, Lars Anderson and Jacob Scavuzzo hit home runs. Adam Law and Alex Verdugo each have two hits.

The second game saw the game tied 0-0 going to the bottom of the sixth.  The Drillers would load the bases with one out and Yadir Drake ground ball was turned into a two-run error.  Grant Dayton got the win.

Class-A Rancho Cucamonga

Leading 6-5 going into the last two innings, the Quakes scored four runs in the eighth and two in the ninth inning to win 12-5 over the JetHawks (Astros).  Leading the way was Kyle Garlick and his three-home run night.  Mike Ahmed and Yusniel Diaz also hit home runs.

Andrew Sopko made his Cal League debut, he pitched 3⅔ innings and gave up three runs, seven hits, a walk and five strikeouts.

The Quakes scored 12 runs despite going 3-for-12 with runners in scoring position.

Class-A Great Lakes

The Loons took an early lead and held on to defeat the Dragons (Reds) 4-1.  Victor Gonzalez pitched five innings and gave up one run on four hits and a walk while striking out five.  Alexander Hermeling and Kevin Brown pitched four shutout innings to secure the win.

2015 5th Round pick Brendon Davis drove in all four runs, both times Davis had 2-run singles.  Matt Jones had two hits and Logan Landon scored two runs on a hit and two walks.

Transactions

Triple-A: Activated outfielder Rico Noel from the 7-day disabled list; assigned infielder Lars Anderson to Tulsa; Double-A: Placed catcher Spencer Navin on the 7-day disabled list.
