It is nearly impossible for a pitcher to throw a masterpiece without any help from his friends. For Dodgers pitcher Kenta Maeda on Saturday in Denver, that help came from left fielder Kiké Hernandez on this Tony Wolters drive to deep left.
Hernandez somehow caught, then held on to that ball, ending the fifth inning and keeping Maeda's no-hitter alive through five innings.
Though Maeda did allow a hit in the sixth inning, that doesn't take away from the effort.
