Oklahoma City won their matinee game but only Rancho Cucamonga could do the same in the evening.
Player Of The Day
Jordan Tarsovich, a 2015 22nd round pick out of Virginia Military Institute, went 3-for-3 and hit a two-run home in the Quakes big win over Inland Empire.
Triple-A Oklahoma City
The Dodgers defeated the Cubs 4-2 behind the pitching of Jeremy Kehrt and hitting of Rob Segedin. Kerht pitched six innings and allowed two runs. Joe Thatcher and Matt West closed out the game.
Rob Segedin doubled and tripled, scored twice and had two RBI. Segedin is hitting .329/.355/.644 with 13 RBI this season.
Double-A Tulsa
The Drillers made lots of contact but were held scoreless by the Travelers (Angels) and lost 3-0. Jacob Scavuzzo had two singles and Yadir Drake also had single but those were only hits the Drillers could produce.
However, the Drillers struck out just three times and did not walk so most of their day was spent grounding or flying out.
The Travelers scored two in the first and one run in the second but the Drillers bullpen held them down as the game went on. Michael Johnson, Seth Frankoff and Dustin Richardson pitched five scoreless innings.
Class-A Rancho Cucamonga
The Quakes went on the road to play the nearby 66ers (Angels) and with a pair of four-run innings, they won 9-2 on Tuesday night.
Tommy Bergjans won his second game as he went seven innings, allowed two unearned runs and struck out nine.
The Quakes had a 15 hit attack, five players had two hits. As noted above, Jordan Tarsovich was 3-for-3 with a two-run home run.
Class-A Great Lakes
The Loons led going to the ninth inning but then the Timber Rattlers scored two runs to comeback and defeat the Loons 4-3. Nolan Long and Kevin Brown had held the Timber Rattlers to two unearned runs.
Marcus Crescentini came in to pitch in the bottom of the ninth and with two outs, the Timber Rattlers got two hits to score the tying and winning runs.
Loon Matt Jones hit a solo home run and a double that drove in the go-ahead run in the sixth.
The Timber Rattlers pitchers had 18 strikeouts and had no walks.
