Rob Segedin goes 4-for-5 in Oklahoma City win in 12 innings

Oklahoma City and Rancho Cucamonga win with late inning runs, Great Lakes takes a seven-run loss.

Player of the day

Rob Segedin, infielder for Oklahoma City is closing out a big month.  With one game left in April, Segedin is hitting .359/.390/.679 with five doubles, four triples and four home runs.  Segedin was 4-for-5 on Friday night with a triple and scored three runs.

Triple-A Oklahoma City

The Dodgers scored two runs in the top of the twelfth and held on to beat the Storm Chasers (Royals) 5-3.  With two out and the bases loaded, both Elian Herrera and Rico Noel drew walks to push across the runs that gave the Dodgers their winning margin.

Ian Thomas and Jharel Cotton combined to pitch the first five innings.  They allowed one run, five hits and struck out eight. Lisalverto Bonilla gave up back-to-back home runs in the eighth that tied the game 3-3.

Chin-hui Tsao got the win and Luis Avilan picked up his first save.

Rob Segedin was 4-for-5, Rico Noel and Micah Johnson each had two hits. The Dodgers were 2-for-18 with runners in scoring position, they left 14 on base.

Double-A Tulsa

The Drillers and Naturals (Royals) were postponed due to rain.

Class-A Great Lakes

The Loons tied the game 3-3 in the third but from there, the Snappers (Athletics) scored the next seven runs to defeat the Loons 10-3.  Four Loons pitchers combined to allow 10 runs (eight earned), 13 hits, five walks and five strikeouts.

Ariel Sandoval had two hits.  Matt Jones had a double and an RBI.

Double-A: Infielder/catcher Paul Hoenecke assigned to Tulsa from Rancho Cucamonga; activated first baseman Cody Bellinger from the 7-day disabled list; placed catcher Kyle Farmer and outfielder Yadir Drake on the 7-day disabled list.  Class-A: catcher Spencer Navin assigned to Rancho Cucamonga; catcher Jake Henson assigned to Dodgers Ext. Spring Training; activated outfielder Yusniel Diaz from the 7-day disabled list.  Left-handed pitcher Philip Pfeifer assigned to Great Lakes from Ogden; placed right-handed pitcher Chris Powell on the 7-day disabled list.
