It's that time of year again, when MLB teams will wear specially designed caps and jerseys for special days and holidays throughout the season. The first such day comes Sunday, when the Dodgers will wear caps and jerseys with pink lettering for Mother's Day.
Dodgers outfielder Joc Pederson was among the major league players featured in a New Era Cap commercial for the caps, wishing their moms a happy Mother's Day.
The overall benefit of these special-event caps and jerseys is quite positive, with proceeds from royalties spread across several charities. For Mother's Day, money will be raised for the Susan G. Komen Foundation, for breast cancer awareness and research, as well as Stand Up to Cancer.
My thoughts on most specialty caps are well known, so I won't beat a dead horse here except to say the Dodgers should wear Dodger blue. But I realize these caps and jerseys aren't for me or my lawn, so if these float your boat, then enjoy.
