LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers on Monday welcomed newcomer Casey Fien to the organization by optioning the right-handed pitcher to Triple-A Oklahoma City, the club announced before their game on Monday against the Mets.
The Dodgers claimed Fien off waivers from the Twins on Saturday.
The 32-year-old had a 7.90 ERA in 14 games with Minnesota this season, with 12 strikeouts and three walks in 13... innings. In parts of seven big league seasons, Fien has a 4.05 ERA in 268 career games, all in relief, with 218 strikeouts and 48 walks in 251⅓ innings with the Tigers and Twins.
Fien has never allowed more than nine home runs in any season, but he allowed five home runs with the Twins by the first week of May.
The former Kennedy High School grad played his college ball at San Luis Obispo, and was drafted by Detroit in the 20th round in 2009.
