Ogden Raptors announce 2016 opening day roster

The Dodgers' rookie level affiliate Ogden Raptors announced their 2016 opening day roster on Thursday, one day before opening their season on the road against Idaho Falls on Friday night.

Perhaps the most notable player currently on the roster is 2015 second-round pick Mitch Hansen, who struggled in his pro debut last year, hitting .201/.281/.282 in the Arizona League. The left-hander turned 20 on May 1. Another notable outfielder is Michael Medina, signed as an international amateur for $275,000 in 2013, he slugged .514 in 45 games with Ogden in his 18-year-old season in 2015.

Hansen is one of five 2015 draft picks on the Raptors. Fifteen of the 26-man roster played with Ogden at some point in 2015.

Also notable is Dillon Moyer, drafted as an infielder in 2013, and about to begin his first full season as a pitcher, after pitching four games for Class-A Rancho Cucamonga in 2015.

Shaun Larkin is Ogden's manager, joining the Dodgers after three years coaching in the Indians' system, including managing Class-A Lake County in 2015.

Pitching coach Don Alexander has 25 years of coaching experience, and this is his first in the Dodgers organization. He is joined on the staff by a pair of 27-year-old former Dodgers minor leaguers with Austin Chubb as hitting coach and Pedro Guerrero.

The Raptors' Pioneer League home opener is Monday night against Grand Junction at Lindquist Field in Ogden.
