LOS ANGELES ---On a day where the first pitch temperature is predicted to be over 90 degrees, the Dodgers will try to win their four-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers. The Dodgers have played well in the sunshine as they will try to improve on their 11-6 record in day games.
Kenta Maeda is scheduled to make his 14th start of the season. Maeda has pitched very well in June, in three starts, he has 1.96 ERA in 18⅓ innings and has struck out 20 while walking four.
Maeda had to be removed from his last start on Tuesday when Paul Goldschmidt's line drive struck him the leg. There have been no reported problems since then and Maeda has remained scheduled to start today.
Matt Garza will make his second start of the season, the right-hander was on the 60-day disabled list for a lat strain. Garza made three rehab starts in the Class-A Midwest League and then he was activated this week.
Last Tuesday, Garza started against the Giants at AT&T Park. Garza pitched four innings and gave up a run and eight hits.
Garza has only made one career appearance against the Dodgers and those six innings are the fewest he has pitched against any other team in the majors. Today is the first time Garza has pitched at Dodger Stadium.
