Oklahoma City, Tulsa and the Arizona League Dodgers all won on Tuesday. Ogden lost their second straight game. The Dominican Summer League Dodger teams had a game suspended while the other one was postponed due to weather concerns.
Player of the day
Another player of the day came from the Arizona Rookie League. The Dodgers outfielder/first baseman Luke Raley had his second straight good game at the plate. The 21-year old who was an outfielder on Opening Day, started at first base in this game. Raley was 3-for-4, this time he hit his first home run and had two RBI.
Triple-A Oklahoma City
The Dodgers scored two runs in the first and held on to defeat the Express 2-1. Grant Dayton got the win because Logan Bawcom and only pitched four innings.
The Dodgers scored their first run on back-to-back doubles by Charlie Culberson and Austin Barnes, later in that inning, Barnes would score while a double play was being completed.
A bullpen game for the Dodgers meant they used five pitchers and Grant Dayton got the win. Pitchers Luis Avilan, Sam LeCure and Matt West protected league and West got his third save.
Double-A Tulsa
The Drillers kicked off the second half by beating the Cardinals 9-5. The Drillers fell behind 5-0 but then began the comeback with a four-run seventh followed by a three-run eighth inning.
Michael Johnson got the win and and Daniel Corcino got his first save.
Andrew Toles, Willie Calhoun and Shawn Zarraga each had two hits.
Class-A Rancho Cucamonga
The California and Carolina Leagues played their annual All-Star game at Lake Elsinore on Tuesday night. The Carolina League won 6-4.
The Quakes had three players selected for the game, pitchers Joshua Sborz and Andrew Sopko were at the game while outfielder Kyle Garlick was promoted to Tulsa. Sborz was the second California League pitcher used, he pitched a scoreless inning, allowing a hit and striking out one.
Class-A Great Lakes
The Midwest League had their annual All-Star Game on Tuesday at Cedar Rapids. The East scored four runs in the ninth to comeback at defeat the West 11-10.
The Loons sole representative, pitcher Dennis Santana, pitched a scoreless inning for the East, allowing a hit and striking out one.
Rookie - Ogden
The Rockies beat the Raptors 12-4. The Rockies scored six runs in the second and four runs in the ninth to cap their scoring.
Shea Spitzbarth was a bright spot for the Raptors, the 21-year old right-hander pitched 2⅓ scoreless innings with four strikeouts.
The Raptors are still winless, starting their season at now 0-4.
Rookie - Arizona
The AZL Dodgers defeated the AZL White Sox 14-6. The Dodgers piled up 16 hits, including five doubles, a triple and three home runs.
The Dodgers scored four runs in the first and six runs in the second. Along with Luke Raley, Jefrey Souffront also had three hits. Jared Walker and Andres Ayon joined Raley with their first home runs of the season.
Dominican Summer League - Dodgers 1 and 2
The game between the Astros Blue and Dodgers2 team was suspended after 4⅔ innings and the Astros leading 2-0. The Dodgers1 and Diamondbacks2 game was postponed due to rain.
