Dodgers looking for seventh straight home win, second straight home sweep

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Dodgers will go for the three-game sweep of the Braves on Sunday afternoon at Dodger Stadium. A win would mean a second straight home sweep and a seventh consecutive home win for the first time since April of last season..

After a 6-10 start at home in 2016, the Dodgers have turned it around with nine wins in the last 11 home games. The team has averaged 4.64 runs per game during the 11-game stretch.

Scott Kazmir will take the mound with hopes of building on recent success. The left-hander has allowed two or fewer runs in at least six innings in three of the last four starts, including an impressive outing against the Cubs where he traded zeroes with Jake Arrieta.

Kazmir has a respectable 3.43 ERA in his last seven starts with 52 strikeouts in 44 ⅔ innings.

The Braves will counter with Matt Wisler who has pitched well for struggling Atlanta. Despite only two team wins in his six May starts, Wisler posted a 2.51 ERA during the month, allowing only 12 runs in 43 innings of work while striking out 29 and walking 10.

The Dodgers will also look to keep the running game going, stealing 14 bases in the last 26 games. They stole five bases as a team Saturday for the first time since April 13, 2014.
