Only the AZL Dodgers won on Monday night as each of the four full-season affiliates lost as well as the one Dominican Dodger team that got their game in before the rain.

Player of the day

Right-handed pitcher Andrew Sopko made his first start with the Drillers on Monday and had a solid five-inning outing.  Sopko allowed one run, five hits, one walk and struck out four.  Sopko, a 2016 California League All-Star, was 11-2, with a 3.06 ERA in 109 innings pitched in Class-A.

Triple-A Oklahoma City

The Dodgers and the Sky Sox (Brewers) were tied 2-2 going to the bottom of the sixth but then the Sky Sox scored three runs on their way to a 9-4 win over the Dodgers.

The Sky Sox had 12 hits, including eight extra-base hits (five doubles, two triples and a home run).  Sam LeCure started for the Dodgers and left after five innings with the game tied.

But then, three Dodger relievers, Rob Rogers, Randy Choate, and Jacob Rhame gave up a combined seven runs (six earned) and that was more than enough for the Sky Sox.

Rob Segedin and O`Koyea Dickson hit back-to-back solo home runs but that was not enough.

Double-A Tulsa

The Drillers could not hold on to a lead and saw the Cardinals walk-off with a 5-4 win.  The Drillers led 4-1 going to the bottom of the seventh but then the Cardinals scored three runs to tie the game.

In the ninth, Chris Anderson was on the mound for the Drillers and the first batter he faced, Jacob Wilson, hit a walk-off home run.  For Wilson, that was his second home run in this game.

Sopko made his first start for the Drillers and left with a 2-1 that grew to 4-1.  But then an error by Willie Calhoun eventually led to two of the three runs being unearned.

Aside from Sopko's debut, the other notable performance was the 4-for-4 game by Kyle Farmer.  Farmer had two doubles, two RBI and also one walk.  Jacob Scavuzzo also had two hits.

Class-A Rancho Cucamonga

The Quakes dropped the first game of their road trip to the Ports (Athletics) by a 4-2 score.  Michael Boyle made his California League debut for the Quakes and pitched an excellent game.

Boyle pitched six innings, allowed three (one unearned) runs, nine hits, a walk and had eight strikeouts.

Infielder Noah Perio was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Class-A Great Lakes

The Loons fell behind early lost 5-1 to the Cubs.  The Loons had Jordan Sheffield making his Midwest League debut and it was over before it got started.

Sheffield started but only pitched ⅔ inning before exiting the game.  Sheffield faced six batters, five got on base.

After walking the first batter he saw, Sheffield got a caught stealing before walking the second batter.  Then single, double, single lead to two runs before the sixth batter of the game flew out. That was it for Sheffield.

Omar Estevez and Luke Raley each had two hits in the loss.

Pioneer - Ogden

The Raptors are off through Wednesday for their All-Star break.  On Tuesday, the Raptors are hosting the 2016 Pioneer League All-Stars vs. the Northwest League All-Stars Game.

Arizona League - AZL Dodgers

AZL Dodgers got a 2-0 shutout over the AZL Reds for the Dodger affiliate's sole win.  Five pitchers combined to shutout the Reds, giving up four hits and striking out 11.

The Dodgers did not do much better at the plate as they had only three hits, four walks and were struck out nine times.

Logan Crouse got the win for his five shutout innings.  Gavin Lux was 1-for-3 with a double, a run scored and an RBI.
