Dodgers vs. Rockies schedule & probable starting pitchers

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

The Dodgers are back in the pitching hell hole of Coors Field in Denver beginning Tuesday night against the Rockies. Here is a look at the probable starting pitchers for the three-game series.

Tuesday, 5:40 p.m. PT (SportsNet LA)

Brandon McCarthy struck out eight Rockies in five scoreless innings on July 3, his first start back off the disabled list. Jon Gray had quality starts in all five July outings, putting up a 1.89 ERA for the month, including three straight seven-inning games to end the month, with two total runs allowed.

Dodgers-Rockies

Kenta Maeda has allowed one run in 13 innings in his two starts against the Rockies, with 17 strikeouts and two walks. Rookie Tyler Anderson has six quality starts in his nine major league starts and has lasted at least six innings seven times. In his other two starts, he went 5⅔ innings.

Thursday, 5:40 p.m. (SportsNet LA)

Scott Kazmir has no walks in his last three starts, with 22 strikeouts since his last free pass, and 33 strikeouts against only three walks in July to go with his 3.58 ERA. Tyler Chatwood has at least as many walks as strikeouts in his last seven starts, with 27 walks and 21 strikeouts in 33⅓ innings during that span.

I'm guessing this might be the first time the Dodgers have faced two straight starting pitchers named Tyler.
