Brock Stewart pitches 5 shutout innings, OKC has a rare 1-0 loss

Three of Friday's games were shutouts, unfortunately only one was thrown by a Dodger affiliate.  In a reversal of fortune from Thursday, only Rancho Cucamonga won on Friday.

Player of the day

Brock Stewart pitched five scoreless innings in Oklahoma City's 1-0 loss to the Albuquerque.  Stewart has only made two starts in August has he remains an option for a spot start or long relief option for Los Angeles.

Triple-A Oklahoma City

The Dodgers lost for the third time in four games against the Isotopes (Rockies) and this one was a 1-0 shutout.  The Dodgers suffered their third shutout this season but it was even rarer than that per Oklahoma City Dodger play-by-play broadcaster Alex Freedman.

Brock Stewart started for the Dodgers and pitched five scoreless innings.  Sam LeCure took the loss, giving up the only run in his two innings of work.

The Dodgers were held to four hits, Andrew Toles was 2-for-4 with a double.  Yasiel Puig was 1-for-4 with a strikeout.

Double-A Tulsa

The Drillers saw their six-game winning steak end as the  the RoughRiders (Rangers) beat them 9-0 on Friday.  Isaac Anderson gave up five runs in five innings.

The Drillers offense was held to five hits and two walks.  Cody Bellinger had two hits, Joey Curletta was 1-for-3 with a double.

Class-A Rancho Cucamonga

The Quakes had a 6-0 shutout win over the Giants in San Jose to continue their push to clinch a playoff spot.  Tim Shibuya and Kevin Brown combined to shutdown the Giants as they scattered six hits and a walk.

The Quakes scored two runs in the second, fourth and ninth innings.  Noah Perio, Mike Ahmed, Brandon Trinkwon, and Ariel Sandoval each had two hits.  Ahmed hit his 16th home run.  Yusniel Diaz hit a key two-run double to extend the lead to 4-0.

Class-A Great Lakes

The Loons also the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday as the Hot Rods (Rays) beat the Loons 5-2.  Caleb Ferguson gave up two runs in five innings.

Ivan Vieitez took the loss as he gave up three runs in his three innings of work.

Logan Landon was 2-for-4 with his ninth home run.

Pioneer - Ogden

The Raptors were defeated by the Owlz (Angels) 8-4, Austin French took the loss as he gave up four runs in three innings.

The Raptors hit three triples on Friday, two by Brandon Montgomery and Mitchell Hansen had the other triple.

Arizona League - AZL Dodgers

AZL Dodgers were off on Friday.

Dominican Summer League - Dodgers One & Dodgers Two

Dodgers One had a one-run loss in their 4-3 defeat to the Mariners One, the Phillies dominated the Dodgers Two as evidenced by their 10-1 win.

Transactions

Triple-A: Los Angeles Dodgers optioned right-handed pitchers Ross Stripling and Casey Fien to Oklahoma City.

Class-A: Great Lakes activated catcher Jake Henson from the 7-day disabled list.

Rookie: Catcher Garrett Hope assigned to AZL Dodgers from Great Lakes; right-handed pitchers Vin Santarsiero and Zac Grotz assigned to Ogden.
