The Dodgers could really use Clayton Kershaw as the season winds to a close. The left-hander threw a light bullpen session Saturday of around 25 pitches and talked with reporters afterwards.
Kershaw sounded optimistic of where he is at in the process without offering substantial information on what that means for when he'll be back.
"I felt good," said Kershaw. "Until you face hitters, you don't really know for sure. I feel 100 percent right now, so that's a good sign."
It's unlikely that Kershaw returns from the 60-day DL as soon as he is eligible on August 27, unless he somehow avoids a minor league rehab stint. After being on the shelf for two months, a game or two in the minors is realistic.
