Rob Segedin has been on a wild ride since he was called up to the Dodgers August 7 and drove in four runs in his major league debut. The 27-year-old hit his first career homer Monday as the Dodgers handily took care of the Reds by the score of 18-9.
The day just got better for Segedin as he went to be with his wife Robin directly after the game to await the birth of their first child. A son they will fittingly name Robinson considering the franchise that gave him the opportunity of being on a major league roster.
Segedin has certainly taken advantage of the circumstances breaking out in a big way after 2,331 career minor league plate appearances. This is a time he and his family will never forget.
UPDATE: Baby Robinson is here. Congratulations to the whole Segedin Family.
