The Dodgers will try to win their series against the Cubs today and they can take some comfort in that they are both 25-15 in series finales and 24-11 in day games.

Today's game features a pitcher making his 310th career start vs. the Dodgers Brock Stewart who is making his third career start.

Cub's starting pitcher Jon Lester had one of best outings in 2016 when he pitched a complete game 2-1 win over the Dodgers on June 1st at Wrigley Field.  Lester matched his season-high 10 strikeouts and he did not walk anyone.

Brock Stewart has continued to pitch well for Oklahoma City in between his time with the Dodgers, the right-hander has a nine to one ratio of strikeouts to walks (54 strikeouts to six walks) at AAA.

Another rookie who is likely to be in the lineup today is Rob Segedin, Segedin made his debut against David Price and he has played well in the sunshine with a .368/.381/.579 batting line in 21 plate appearances.

The Dodgers are 15-17 against left-handed starters but they have been able to get to Price and Madison Bumgarner in August so they can hope to be able to do the same against Lester this afternoon at Dodger Stadium..
