Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Great Lakes and AZL Dodgers won their games on Friday. Rancho Cucamonga, Ogden and one of the Dominican Summer League teams took a loss.
Player of the day
Joey Curletta was recently moved up from Rancho Cucamonga to Tulsa and on Friday he hit two home runs in the Drillers 5-2 win. Curletta had spent this season working on his defense in both outfield corner spots and he will be trying to find his way in the crowded Driller outfield rotation.
Triple-A Oklahoma City
The Dodgers defeated the Express (Rangers) 8-4 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark on Friday. Logan Bawcom won his third straight start, this time pitching five innings and allowing one unearned run, three hits, two walks and striking out five.
Bawcom has made eight starts this season, he's pitched 39 innings he has a 1.38 ERA and given up 28 hits, 15 walks and striking out 29.
Austin Barnes went 3-for-5 with a triple, a run scored and an RBI.
Double-A Tulsa
The Drillers beat the Naturals (Royals) 10-2 on the road at Arvest Ballpark. Tim Locastro and Joey Curletta who are two of more recent call-ups from Rancho Cucamonga had big offensive games.
Locastro went 4-for-5 with a run scored, Curletta was 3-for-5 with two home runs, a double and five RBI.
Willie Calhoun hit his 23rd home run and Jacob Scavuzzo was 2-for-5.
Class-A Rancho Cucamonga
The Quakes suffered another loss to the Mavericks (Rangers), this time was by a 13-5 score. Tommy Bergjans has posted losses against High Desert six times this season.
Bergjans pitched four innings and gave up nine runs, eight hits, three walks and struck out four. David Reid-Foley then gave up four more runs in the fifth.
Rancho Cucamonga took a 5-3 lead before High Desert scored nine runs in the fifth to blow the game open.
Johan Mieses hit his 21st home run and had two hits.
Class-A Great Lakes
The Loons won 5-2 over the Captains (Indians). Yadier Alvarez pitched brilliantly for five innings but had a no-decision on Friday.
Alvarez pitched five scoreless innings, striking out seven and giving up three hits. Alvarez has now struck out 57 in 38 combined AZL and Midwest League innings.
Omar Estevez hit .333/.376/.570 in July and he continues to swing a hot bat, on Friday night, Estevez went 3-for-4 with a home run and a double.
Pioneer - Ogden
The Raptors took a one-run loss to the Mustangs (Reds), losing 4-3 on Friday. The Mustangs pushed across a run in the sixth inning to break a 3-3 tie.
DJ Peters hit his eighth home run of the season, a two-run shot that briefly gave the Raptors an early 2-0 lead.
Arizona League - AZL Dodgers
AZL Dodgers beat AZL Cubs 11-4. The Dodgers trailed 4-0 before scoring the last 11 runs of the game.
The Dodgers had 14 hits to go along with the 11 runs. Six Dodgers each had two hits, Gavin Lux, Samuel Ortiz, Carlos Rincon, Christian Santana, Carlos Aquino and Jeffrey Souffront. Carlos Rincon hit a grand slam, Christian Santana also homered.
Dominican Summer League - Dodgers One & Dodgers Two
The Rojos (Reds) won 8-2 against the Dodgers One. Dodgers Two and Royals were tied 2-2 when the game was suspended on Friday afternoon.

Triple-A: Right-handed pitcher Jeremy Kehrt assigned to Oklahoma City from Tulsa.
Double-A: Tulsa traded outfielder James Ramsey to Tacoma Rainiers; right-handed pitchers Yaisel Sierra and Isaac Anderson assigned to Tulsa from Rancho Cucamonga.
Class-A: Catcher Spencer Navin activated from 7-day disabled list; right-handed pitcher Alexander Hermeling assigned to Rancho Cucamonga from Great Lakes; right-handed pitcher Tony Gonsolin assigned to Great Lakes from Ogden.
