LOS ANGELES --- Manager Dave Roberts announced this morning that Rich Hill is day-to-day with a newly "formed blister" on a different part of the finger. With Hill being unavailable, Brandon McCarthy will start the series finale tomorrow on regular rest.
Roberts didn't indicate that this would be a long delay but that the Dodgers were being careful with Rich Hill.
"With his recent history," Roberts said, "we want to be cautious and push his start date back."
With Brandon McCarthy starting tomorrow, the Dodgers have not announced their starter on Monday. "Kenta [Maeda] will make his start on Tuesday," Roberts said, "[Kazmir] will go Wednesday and then Monday, we have to make a decision."
Injury Updates
Left-handed starting pitcher Brett Anderson will make his next rehab start with the Oklahoma City Dodgers on Monday night against Iowa at Principal Park in Des Moines, Iowa.
"Andeson threw a bullpen today," said Roberts and "really looked good." "He's going to be 5/75 [innings/pitches], something like that."
"At that point in time," Roberts said, "we'll make a decision on if it is going to be another rehab start or is he going to be slotted in with us."
Right-handed reliever Casey Fein will start his rehab today with the Arizona League Dodgers.
Left-handed reliever Adam Liberatore will pick up a baseball in a few days. "I see no reason why [Liberatore] won't be back when he is eligible," Roberts said, "without a rehab."
