LOS ANGELES — The Dodgers and Rockies continue their weekend series on Friday night at Dodger Stadium, but at least for one night baseball takes a back seat.
It is Vin Scully Weekend at Dodger Stadium, beginning on Friday night at Dodger Stadium with Vin Scully appreciation night.
Tonight will be especially busy with a pregame ceremony for Scully, so the Dodgers will open the auto gates to Dodger Stadium at 4:10 p.m., and open the stadium gates at 4:40 p.m.
Starting at 6:30 p.m., there will be a video tribute to Scully narrated by Bob Costas, followed by a ceremony led by Charley Steiner, with Vin and his wife Sandra on the field. That ceremony will include Scully receiving the key to the city from LA mayor Eric Garcetti, plus various remarks from Kevin Costner, Jaime Jarrin, Rob Manfred, Mark Walter and Sandy Koufax.
The pregame ceremony will be shown live on SportsNet LA and KTLA, available to watch online at Dodgers.com, and on radio on AM 570.
