Dodgers try for 3rd straight win

MLB: Philadelphia Phillies at Los Angeles Dodgers Richard Mackson-USA TODAY Sports

LOS ANGELES — The Dodgers send Scott Kazmir to the mound on Friday night against the Rockies at Dodger Stadium.

Kazmir is activated off the disabled list to make his first major league start since Aug. 22.

“We have to see what we have with him. He's a guy we have high expectations for, and we have all season, manager Dave Roberts said on Wednesday. “It's been a tough year for him, but where he's at we're confident he can regain his form and pitch well for us.”

Roberts mentioned on Wednesday that Kazmir might be good for roughly 90 pitches, but that has been his stock answer for most of the year, no matter the actual number.

"I'll manage it according to stressful innings and how the stuff looks,” he added.

Andrew Toles gets a second straight start in left field for the Dodgers on Friday night, with Howie Kendrick getting the night off.

Justin Turner is back at third base after not starting on Thursday.
