Gibson, the catalyst of the 1988 Dodgers whose home run in Game 1 is one of the most famous in baseball history, used a phrase quite common among the players on that team.
A familiar refrain in the clubhouse that year was, “What a f**king team! How sweet it is, to taste the fruits of victory,” heard here at about the 1:15 mark:
