It’s not only free agency for major league players, but for minor league players, too. Among the Dodgers minor league free agents are O`Koyea Dickson and Fabio Castillo, who were both on the 40-man roster at times this season.
Dickson was sent outright to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Monday. As a 2011 draftee, his contract was renewed six times already, and now he has the right to free agency, as does 2011 sixth-round pick Scott Barlow, who had a 3.29 ERA in 26 starts between Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City in 2017.
Dickson got his first taste of the majors in September with the Dodgers, and was 1-for-7 with two walks in his seven games, including one start in left field.
Right-handed pitcher Fabio Castillo, who spent three months on the 40-man roster this season and also made his major league debut with the Dodgers in September, is also a minor league free agent.
Other Dodgers minor league free agents include 2017 spring training non-roster invitees Ike Davis, Steve Geltz, Jack Murphy, Bobby Wilson and Madison Younginer.
There are 572 minor league free agents in all. Here are the Dodgers’ 23 free agents, per Matt Eddy of Baseball America:
