Baseball America unveiled its top 100 prospects on Friday evening, culminating with a televised special on MLB Network. Coupled with the Baseball Prospectus top 101 prospects, not yet released online but available in the BP annual book, we have a good idea of the Dodgers’ consensus top prospects, with most of the usual names.
Cody Bellinger topped the Baseball America list, ranked as the No. 7 prospect in baseball, similar to his No. 6 ranking by Keith Law at ESPN and No. 13 by MLB.com.
Bellinger is one of four Dodgers in the top 100 prospects per Baseball America, along with Yadier Alvarez (26th), Alex Verdugo (58th) and Willie Calhoun (92nd).
Yadier Alvarez is No. 26 on the BA Top 100. He’s still high risk, but few pitching prospects in the game can match him on pure stuff.

On the Baseball Prospectus top 101, Alvarez was tops among Dodgers prospects, ranking 23rd, just three spots ahead of Bellinger. There were five Dodgers in the BP top 101, with Verdugo ranked 66th, outfielder Yusniel Diaz 90th and Walker Buehler ranked 94th.
The Dodgers heading into 2017 have three prospects — Bellinger, Alvarez, and Verdugo — to show up in the top 100 lists for all four major national outlets — Baseball America, Baseball Prospectus, ESPN, and MLB.com — plus three more (Buehler, Calhoun, and Diaz) to show up on at least one list.
Bellinger has the best average rank among the four national outlets, at 13.
Jose De Leon, who was traded to the Rays on Jan. 23, also showed up on all four national top 100 lists, with an average rank of 43.25. He was 29th on the Baseball America list.
