PHOENIX — Fox Sports announced its national baseball broadcast schedule for the 2017 season on Tuesday, and six Dodgers Saturday games are slated to be carried by either Fox or Fox Sports 1.
The Dodgers will be on Fox three times this season — May 27 against the Cubs at Dodger Stadium, July 8 at home against the Royals, and Sept. 16 against the Nationals in Washington. Fox Saturday broadcasts are exclusive national broadcasts, which means no SportsNet LA broadcast locally in Los Angeles.
Fox Sports 1 broadcasts are not exclusive, and also are not blacked out in the Dodgers’ television market, which means for those with SportsNet LA for those games there will be two broadcast options. The three FS1 games for the Dodgers are July 29 against the Giants at home, Aug. 5 against the Mets in New York, and Aug. 19 at Detroit to play the Tigers.
The Dodgers games on May 27, July 29, Aug. 5, Aug. 19 and Sept. 16 are also available in Spanish on Fox Deportes.
Fox left the final two Saturdays of the regular season open, and will determine its broadcast schedule based on pennant races at the time. The Dodgers are scheduled to host the Giants on Saturday, Sept. 23, and will be in Denver to battle the Rockies for the final weekend of the season.
The only other exclusive national broadcast including the Dodgers is their Monday, April 10 game against the Cubs at Wrigley Field, on ESPN. That game will be an exclusive full national telecast by ESPN (no SportsNet LA) of the Cubs’ home opener, a 5:05 p.m. PT start. So far, ESPN has unveiled its Sunday Night Baseball schedule through the All-Star break.
