LOS ANGELES — The Dodgers on Friday activated relief pitcher Pedro Baez from the disabled list, and optioned pitcher Josh Fields to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Baez was sidelined for most of spring training after taking a ground ball off the lower part of his right hand near his thumb. He began the regular season on the 10-day disabled list with a right wrist contusion.

In three games with Triple-A Oklahoma City on a minor league rehab assignment, Baez allowed two runs in three innings, with three strikeouts and one walk. His last appearance was Wednesday night, retiring all four batters he faced, including two strikeouts.

Fields was recalled from Triple-A last Friday when Rich Hill was placed on the DL, and pitched in four of six possible games, including some situations with decent leverage. Fields pitched three scoreless innings, allowing only a hit and a walk, and struck out six of his 11 batters faced.
