The Dodgers and Giants reconnect after last week’s affair, with a three-game series set to open at Dodger Stadium on Monday night. Here is a look at the scheduled starting pitchers for the division matchup in Los Angeles.
Monday. 7:10 p.m. PT (SportsNet LA, MLB Network)
Dating back to the start of 2014, Clayton Kershaw is 32-6 with a 1.54 ERA at Dodger Stadium, and the Dodgers have won 36 of his 44 starts (.818). During that same span, Johnny Cueto has a 1.08 ERA at Dodger Stadium but is just 2-2 in his four starts.
Tuesday, 7:10 p.m. (SportsNet LA)
Since joining the Dodgers in 2015, Alex Wood owns a 1.76 ERA in 63⅓ innings at Dodger Stadium. Wood pitched six scoreless innings last Wednesday night against the Giants in San Francisco.
Matt Moore’s 35⅔ innings against the Dodgers since the start of 2016 are the third-most by any major league pitcher — Cueto is first with 39⅔ — which is a bit of a surprise since Moore didn’t become a Giants until last year’s trade deadline. Two of his six starts against the Dodgers dating back to 2016 came with the Rays. He owns a 3.79 ERA in those games.
Wednesday, 7:10 p.m. (SportsNet LA, KTLA, MLB Network)
Julio Urias since last year’s All-Star break owns a 1.94 ERA in 46⅓ innings, with 44 strikeouts and 18 walks. Jeff Samardzija lost his first four starts this season before rebounding with a strong outing Friday against the Padres. Samardzija allowed three runs (two earned) in seven innings in a no-decision.
