Injury Updates

“Yasiel is feeling better,” said Roberts, “still some back stiffness as far as today, for me I did not want to get him in there today, hopefully stay away from him.

“He’s available to pinch-hit but with the off-day coming tomorrow, get him back at full strength Tuesday, makes the most sense to me.”

Roberts still expects to avoid using the disabled list for Puig, “I just had a conversation with [Puig] so again he’s feeling better,” said Roberts, “I like the way Kiké is swinging the bat, I trust him in the outfield, so with that, to give Yasiel that extra day just seems to make sense.”

Infielder Logan Forsythe was taking ground balls at third base prior to today’s game, and Roberts said he will be activated this Tuesday. “He’s going to get the lion share at third base,” said Roberts, “it is going to be shared time [at second base] with Chris Taylor and Chase [Utley], not a strict platoon.”

“CT’s earned the opportunity to play against right-handers, left-handers, so he and Chase will split time until JT gets back.”

“Today, getting a little better extension, everyday [Turner] says it is getting a little bit better,” Roberts said, “so I think we kind of pointed to two weeks and hopefully that’s kind of where it stays.”
