The Dodgers had some trouble to open the week with two losses to the Giants in San Francisco, but they rallied to win four out of five to finish off the week, including three out of four against the Marlins at home.
The club was buoyed by the offense, finishing the week with five consecutive games scoring six or more runs.
Batter of the week
Chris Taylor continued his assault on National League pitching, going 9-for-20 (.450) with five extra-base hits and five walks. Honorable mention goes to Justin Turner, who was 6-for-9 with two walks before straining his hamstring on Thursday night.
Pitcher of the week
Clayton Kershaw and his slider were on point on Wednesday in San Francisco, allowing only three hits and no walks in seven scoreless innings. Also deserving mention was Alex Wood, who pitched scoreless baseball into the eighth on Friday.

The week ahead
The Dodgers start the week with the greatest of all in-season days, an off day at home. Then, they run the Jerry Mumphrey gauntlet, hosting National League Central foes the Cardinals and Cubs for three games each to finish off the homestand.
The Dodgers face all right-handed pitching this week. The rotation for the Cardinals series is set, but who knows how Dave Roberts will order things for the weekend? Trying to predict more than a few days in advance is a fool’s errand.
