Brendon Davis hits one of four Loons homers in their 8-5 win

The two Dodger affiliates that played on Tuesday split their games, Tulsa lost and Great Lakes won. Oklahoma City’s game was rained out.

Player of the day

Shortstop Brendon Davis went 3-for-4 with a triple, home run, two runs scored and two RBI. Davis continues to perform well as he closes in on the first two months of the season, Davis is hitting .282/.398/.460.

Triple-A Oklahoma City

Oklahoma City had their game at New Orleans postponed due to rain. A double-header has been scheduled for July 8th to make up this game.

Double-A Tulsa

Tulsa could not stop the San Antonio Missions (Padres) from scoring seven late runs to take this game by an 11-5 score over Tulsa. The Drillers pitchers gave up 14 hits and seven walks to go with the 11 runs.

Johan Mieses did hit two home runs in a game for the second time this season. Michael Ahmed hit a three-run homer too.

Yaisel Sierra is one of the pitchers that is being watched Tulsa and on Tuesday, he had poor outing.

Sierra pitched the last two innings for Tulsa, he gave up six hits and three runs. He walked one and did not strike out anyone.

Class-A Rancho Cucamonga

Rancho Cucamonga had the day off, they open a four-game series at Visalia Rawhide (Diamondbacks) on Wednesday.

Class-A Great Lakes

The Loons hit four home runs in their 8-5 win over the West Michigan Whitecaps (Tigers). Brandon Davis, Keibert Ruiz, Cody Thomas and Oneil Cruz hit home runs accounting for five of the Loons eight runs.

Dustin May won his second game of the year, May pitched six innings and gave up six hits, four runs (three earned) and struck out six.

As noted above, Davis had three hits and Ruiz went 2-for-4 with a home run and a double.

Transactions

Double-A: Tulsa activated right-handed pitcher Karch Kowalczyk from the temporarily inactive list, placed outfielder Stetson Allie on the 7-day disabled list and placed right-handed pitcher Tim Shibuya on the 7-day disabled list retroactive to May 28, 2017.
