The Dodgers will hope to continue their strong pitching during this road trip and bring back some of their offense in today’s game at Milwaukee. For the first five games of the trip, the team has a 1.96 ERA in 46 innings pitched.
The Dodgers have not won a road series since winning the second game of their series against the Padres on May 6th.
Rich Hill makes his sixth start of the season. He is facing a Brewers team where only one player infielder/outfielder Nick Franklin has faced him in the past. Franklin is 2-for-2 with two singles but he has not faced Hill since 2014.
Matt Garza was signed by the Brewers prior to the 2014 season to a 4-year $50M deal. Thus far in 2017, Garza has started seven games and in 40⅔ innings pitched, he’s allowed 41 hits, 21 runs (18 earned), walked eight and struck out 31.
Chase Utley and Franklin Gutierrez have faced Garza the most often but Gutierrez has not faced Garza since 2010. Utley has 18 plate appearances and has hit one home run and one double while Gutierrez, who is 8-for-17 against Garza, also has a home run.
