The Drillers were the lone victors on the farm, with few highlights from the big names in the organization.

Player of the day

In a thin night for standouts, Andrew Sopko led the way for Tulsa with seven strikeouts in five innings, earning his first win of the season. Sopko allowed just one earned run, lowering his ERA to 4.24 in 34 innings.

Triple-A Oklahoma City

Oklahoma City ended up on the losing side of both ends of a double header with the Iowa Cubs. A late rally in game one was for naught, with the Dodgers falling 5-4 in seven innings. Scott Van Slyke went three for four with a double, while Calhoun also had a pair of hits in four at bats. Jair Jurrjens took the loss in allowing four runs in four innings of work.

Game two went worse for Oklahoma City, who mustered just two hits in a 4-0 loss. Scott Van Slyke was the leader again with both hits for the Dodgers. Fabio Castillo allowed three runs in three innings of work, taking the loss for Oklahoma City.

Double-A Tulsa

The Drillers rode a pair of homers and a strong pitching performance from Andrew Sopko to a 7-4 victory. Yaisel Sierra followed Sopko’s strong outing with two and a third quality innings in relief, striking out four while allowing just one unearned run.

Edwin Rios went two for five with his twelfth home run of the season. Matt Beatty also homered, and Quincy Latimore added a pair of hits and runs scored to the winning cause.

Class-A Rancho Cucamonga

The Quakes were off Wednesday. They travel to Lake Elsinore Thursday to start a series with the Storm. Caleb Ferguson takes the mound in game one.

Class-A Great Lakes

The Loons were battered for fifteen hits in a 9-2 loss to the West Michigan Whitecaps (Tigers). Leonardo Crawford took the loss after allowing eight runs on eleven hits in five innings. Andre Scrubb struck out the side in the ninth as the only Loon to not allow a run or hit on the evening.

Cody Thomas and Brendon Davis each had a pair of hits in four at bats, with Thomas also adding one of the two runs scored.

Dominican Summer League

The DSL Brewers/Indians defeat the DSL Dodgers Two 3-1. Luis Rodriguez led the offense with a pair of hits in four at bats.

The DSL Astros Blue defeated the DSL Dodgers One 11-10 in eleven innings. Sauryn Lao drove in five runs with two doubles in four at bats.
