It caught the attention of Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig, who tweeted encouragement.

And it worked. Puig, ridden by jockey Santiago Gonzalez, finished 3¼ lengths back of winner Red Lightning in the fifth race on Sunday at Del Mar, paying $17.80 and $9.60.
