The Dodgers tagged Wednesday Pirates starter Trevor Williams for eight runs in three innings on May 8 at Dodger Stadium, his first time facing them.

Chris Taylor was 2-for-2 against Williams , including hitting one of his three grand slams of 2017 against the right-hander. Yasiel Puig also homered, and Yasmani Grandal — who sits on Wednesday -- had a two-run double.

Austin Barnes starts at catcher, his 37th start behind the plate this season.

Pirates bullpen swap

Pittsburgh made another roster move in their bullpen before Wednesday’s game. Edgar Santana, who was one of three pitchers added to the roster on Tuesday, was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis after pitching two innings in relief in the second game of the series.

Right-hander Angel Sanchez was promoted from Triple-A. The 27-year-old, who had a 3.74 ERA with 65 strikeouts and 15 walks in 55 innings with Indianapolis, has never pitched in the majors. He was originally signed by the Dodgers out of the Dominican Republic, and pitched in the minors for them from 2011-13, topping out at Class-A Rancho Cucamonga.
