The Dodgers were once again effective on their road trip last week to the east coast, winning five of six games against the Braves and Mets.
The bullpen allowed nine runs over 17 innings while the starting pitching was excellent, giving up only six runs total in the six games.
The Dodgers continued their tormenting of the Mets, hitting 10 more homers in New York. The weekend barrage brings the total to 25 homers against the Mets in seven games this season.
If it weren’t for one bad result for Pedro Baez, the Dodgers might have been undefeated in the six games. Tyler Flowers hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning off Baez to give the Braves their third win against the Dodgers in 2017.
The Braves are the only team the Dodgers have lost to since July 2, going 24-3 over that stretch.
Batter of the week
Chris Taylor kept his magic alive with three more homers, a double and a triple in a week he hit .320 with six RBIs. There were a lot of contenders on offense — Justin Turner and Yasiel Puig each hit a pair of home runs, while Corey Seager hit .375 with a dinger and Cody Bellinger hit four more homers.
Pitcher of the week
There has to be a tie between newly acquired Yu Darvish and Hyun-jin Ryu. Darvish tossed seven scoreless innings in his Dodgers debut on Friday, striking out 10 while giving up just three hits and a walk. Ryu also went seven scoreless, striking out eight while giving up just one hit and a walk.
