Wilmer Font pitches solid six innings in OKC loss

Font continued his good work in the second half

The Dodgers minor league affiliates did not have a good Monday, except for the DSL Dodgers1 team that split a pair of games that they played, every other team lost their games on Monday.

Player of the day

Wilmer Font continued to pitch well in the second half as he pitched six strong innings in the Dodgers loss on Monday night. In his five second half starts, he has pitched 31 innings, giving six runs (five earned), 22 hits and five walks. He has struck out 41 in those 31 innings. Font leads the PCL with 160 strikeouts and his 3.39 ERA and 1.09 WHIP leads all qualified pitchers.

Triple-A Oklahoma City

The Dodgers were two-hit by the Salt Lake Bees (Angels) as they lost 5-1 on Monday in Salt Lake City. Daniel Wright gave up two hits, a run and two walks while striking out nine Dodgers to get the win.

Wilmer Font started for the Dodgers, he pitched six innings and allowed five hits, two runs (one earned) and one walk. He struck out six.

New arrival Dylan Floro gave up five hits and three runs while getting two outs.

Double-A Tulsa

The Drillers were off on Monday.

Class-A Rancho Cucamonga

The Quakes were off on Monday.

Class-A Great Lakes

The Loons did not have a look at this game until the ninth but it was too late as they lost 3-1 to the Fort Wayne TinCaps (Padres). The Loons loaded the bases with two outs but Jeren Kendall grounded out to first, leaving the tying runs in scoring position.

Michael Baez pitched very well against the Loons. He pitched seven scoreless innings, giving up four hits and a walk while striking out nine.

Cristian Santana had three hits including a double and a run scored, Carlos Rincon had two hits and an RBI.

Rookie Pioneer - Ogden

The Raptors lost a high scoring game 15-10 to Great Falls Voyagers (White Sox). Both teams combined for 33 hits and 12 walks along with the 25 runs scored.

Every Raptor got at least one hit, Luis Paz had three hits, Mitchell Hansen, Donovan Casey and Ramon Rodriguez each had two hits. Casey and Samuel Ortiz each hit home runs.

The Raptors used infielder Brock Carpenter as their last pitcher in the game and he was the only Raptor to give up no runs in his appearance on Monday.

Rookie - AZL Dodgers

The AZL Dodgers could not get anything going at the plate and lost 6-1 to the AZL Rangers. The AZL Dodgers were held scoreless until the ninth inning as the AZL Rangers pitchers scattered three hits and three walks in the first eight innings of the game.

One highlight was Mark Washington pitching the final three innings and giving up three hits, no runs and striking out four. He has yet to give up a run in four appearances with the AZL Dodgers.

Triple-A: Oklahoma City placed outfielder Todd Cunningham on the 7-day disabled list.
