Just a day after designating them for assignment, the Dodgers released pitchers Zac Rosscup and Erik Goeddel on Wednesday according to the major league baseball transactions page.
Both relievers were claimed off waivers during the season, Goeddel from the Mariners May 18 and Rosscup from the Rockies July 11.
Goeddel was 1-0 with a 3.38 ERA in 26 games for the Dodgers in 2018, allowing 11 runs and 22 hits. The right-hander struck out 35 in 29 1⁄3 innings but also walked 15.
In 17 games for the Dodgers this last season, Rosscup was charged with six runs in 11 1⁄3 innings. The left-hander struck out 20 against only four walks and held lefties to hit .143/.280/.429 with three hits in 21 at-bats. Despite those good numbers, two of those three hits against lefties were home runs and all four of his walks came against them.
