LOS ANGELES — It turns out that Cory Mazzoni ‘s tenure with the Dodgers did not last very long. The right-handed pitcher was claimed off waivers on Friday by the Cubs, just three days after the Dodgers claimed him from Chicago.
Chris Cotillo of SB Nation first reported the waiver claim.
Mazzoni pitched in the majors for parts of two seasons (2015 and 2017) with the Padres and was claimed off waivers by the Cubs from San Diego in November. The Dodgers claimed him off waivers from Chicago on Tuesday, but now he’s back with Chicago.
With the move the Dodgers now have 39 players on their 40-man roster.
