LOS ANGELES — The Dodgers found a taker for Wilmer Font, two days after the pitcher was designated for assignment. Font on Wednesday was traded to the Athletics in exchange for minor league pitcher Logan Salow.
Salow, 23, has a 1.52 ERA in all of 29⅔ professional innings, including 1.59 in four games this season for Class-A Beloit in the Midwest League, with eight strikeouts and two walks in 5⅔ innings.
Oakland selected Salow in the sixth round last year out of the University of Kentucky. Our own David Hood ranked Salow 182nd in his top 200 draft prospects last June, and Salow was picked 171st overall.
He was ranked 182nd on my draft Top 200 last year. LOOGY type with some nice cut on his FB, but fringy velo.

This gives the Dodgers four 2017 draft picks from the University of Kentucky, joining their own picks pitcher Zach Pop (sixth round), outfielder Zach Reks (10th) and infielder Connor Heady (23rd).
Incredibly excited to be a part of such a great organization! Forever grateful to Oakland and all they have done for me in my short time. On to the next chapter. Back in blue!! #GoDodgers #GoCats https://t.co/AQC5KNMeNa
