Watching the first week and a half of the Dodgers’ season is enough to make anyone sick, but for Cody Bellinger and Alex Wood this is quite literally true.
Both are suffering from food poisoning and Bellinger is out of the Dodgers’ lineup on Sunday against the Giants at AT&T Park. Corey Seager was affected too but he starts Sunday.

Wood and Bellinger had dinner together, both got food poisoning. Bellinger played last night, not starting today to recover.

Bellinger started on Saturday and was 2-for-7 with two strikeouts, and played all 14 innings at first base. He is hitting .250/.294/.344 (8-for-32, one home run) on the season.
Kiké Hernandez gets the call at first base in place of Bellinger on Sunday, which opens the door for Austin Barnes to make his first start of the season at second base.
For Wood, who was back at the team hotel during Saturday’s game, the food poisoning affects his pitching plans as he was bumped to Wednesday instead of Tuesday against the A’s.

Starting Wednesday will mean six days of rest for Wood, who has allowed three runs in 14 innings in his two starts, with no walks and 10 strikeouts.
