After days of searching, we finally get to witness the rarest of things on Wednesday night at Chase Field. a Zach Godley starts on the mound in the third game of the series, wearing the scarlet letter to signify that he is the only Diamondbacks pitcher to lose to the Dodgers in 2018.

Godley walked six and allowed six runs (five earned) in a loss at Dodger Stadium on April 15. He pitched into the fifth inning but didn’t record an out in the inning. That’s the only Dodgers win against Arizona this season, in eight tries.

In his four other starts this season Godley is 4-0 with a 2.59 ERA, including a win over the Dodgers on April 3 at Chase Field, allowing one run in seven innings. He has five total walks and seven total runs allowed in 24⅓ innings outside of that loss to LA.

The Dodgers are averaging 3.88 runs per game against the Diamondbacks this season, hitting .218/.303/.352 versus Arizona.

Against all other teams they are scoring 5.00 runs per game and hitting .253/.332/.411.

Hyun-jin Ryu starts for the Dodgers, with 32 strikeouts and four walks in his last four starts. He has at least seven strikeouts in four consecutive starts for the first time in his career. Since 2000 the only Dodgers streaks longer are 13 different Clayton Kershaw streaks (ranging from five to 14 games longs) and a Rich Hill six-start streak in 2017.
