Dodgers draft infielder Luke Heyer in the 8th round, No. 254 overall

Infielder Luke Heyer from the University of Kentucky is the Dodgers’ eighth-round pick, No. 254 in the 2018 MLB Draft.

The right-hander hit .348/.440/.691 with 18 homers, 17 doubles and nine stolen bases in 2018. Heyer was named as a finalist for the Golden Spikes award, announced June 28 in Los Angeles.

With his first full year of starting in 2018, Heyer mainly played third base but can play multiple positions in both the outfield and infield.

He was not ranked in the top 200 by our David Hood.
