LOS ANGELES —— The Dodgers will try to take the second game of their three-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates with Clayton Kershaw making his third start since coming off the disabled list. In his first two games, Kershaw ramped up from three to five innings and should be on target to go deeper Tuesday. Iván Nova will hope to build on a solid June after his return from the disabled list.

Nova has made four starts after his return from a finger ligament strain, pitching 25⅔ innings and allowing five runs and 17 hits in those contests. He also recorded 21 strikeouts against five walks across those four appearances.

Kershaw has not faced the Pirates since 2016. The Pirate with the most experience against Kershaw is David Freese with 32 plate appearances against him. Freese is hitting .345/.375/.483 with no home runs.
