The Brewers defeated the Dodgers 1-0 on Tuesday behind another strong outing by a left-handed starter, this time Wade Miley and scoreless relief by Joakim Soria and Jeremy Jeffress.
The defeat should not lessen the excellent game pitched by Walker Buehler. Buehler allowed one run and five hits in seven innings. He also struck out eight.
Like Milwaukee’s pen, two Dodger relievers each pitched an inning of scoreless relief. JT Chargois and Caleb Ferguson were very good for the Dodgers tonight.
As noted earlier, the Dodgers have been stymied by left-handed starters in recent weeks.
Past 6 LH starters v #Dodgers -- Newcomb, Fried, Suter, Heaney and Miley (twice) -- have held LAD to six earned runs on 22 hits and nine walks over 36 innings, numbers that add up to a 1.50 ERA and 0.94 WHIP.

On Tuesday, only singles from Yasiel Puig and Austin Barnes prevented another attempt at no-hitting the Dodgers. Lorenzo Cain may have taken away the only chance for a run when he leapt and caught Cody Bellinger’s fly ball.
Cain also provided the only scoring in the game, he doubled home Christian Yelich for the game’s only run.
Just acquired Brian Dozier arrived during the game and perhaps he will help against left-handed pitching. But for now, the Dodgers just need to start scoring against whomever is on the mound against them.
