With the July 31st trade deadline in their rear window, the Dodger affiliates played well on Tuesday with wins from Tulsa, Rancho Cucamonga and Great Lakes. Both DSL Dodgers Robinson and the AZL Dodgers also won.
Player of the day
Several candidates on Tuesday. Great Lakes infielder Deacon Liput had three hits including two home runs. Carlos Rincon and Jared Walker each homered in the Quakes big win.
But I will pick Gavin Lux who went 2-for-3 with a double, triple and a walk. Also Lux scored three runs. Lux was removed during the game and it is believed he will be heading to Tulsa.
The Tulsa Drillers, a popular pipeline to major league teams in Baltimore and Minneapolis, will receive Gavin Lux from Rancho Cucamonga for their trade-deadline troubles.

Triple-A Oklahoma City
The Dodgers were off on Tuesday. They will start a series at Tacoma against the Rainiers (Mariners) on Wednesday.
Double-A Tulsa
The Drillers defeated the Springfield Cardinals 7-6 on Tuesday in a game that was not that close for most of it. Leading by five runs, the Cardinals scored four runs before the Drillers were able to them off the scoreboard.
Tony Gonsolin started and pitched five innings. He gave up two runs and struck out five. Yadier Alvarez relieved Gonsolin and he would give up one run in both the sixth and seventh inning.
Alvarez started the eighth inning and he was immediately in trouble. Alvarez gave up three straight singles to load the bases. He would get the next two batters out but then he gave up a two-run double.
That was it for Alvarez as Michael Johnson replaced him and would proceed to get the last out of the inning.
Johnson would get the first two outs of the ninth inning. Marshall Kasowski came in to get the last out which he did to get his first save.
Keibert Ruiz and DJ Peters each had two hits and scored a run. Zach McKinstry hit his first home run in the Texas League. Cael Brockmeyer hit a three-run homer.
Class-A Rancho Cucamonga
The Quakes led by as many as 14 runs on their way to a 19-6 win over Lake Elsinore Storm (Padres). Max Gamboa pitched 6⅓ innings and allowed five runs (four earned) and nine hits. On Tuesday, that was good enough for a win.
Each Quakes starter in the lineup had at least one hit. Gavin Lux scored three runs as he went 2-for-3 with a walk. Cristian Santana homered and drove in four runs. Connor Wong homered and scored three runs. Jared Walker homered and drove in three runs.
And Carlos Rincon continued his strong start in the California League. Rincon went 3-for-4 with a home runs and drove in four runs.
Class-A Great Lakes
The Loons got just enough offense from Deacon Liput to beat the Lake County Captains (Indians) 3-2 on Tuesday. Liput hit two home runs and drove in three runs.
Gerardo Carrillo pitched five innings where she gave up two runs and four hits. Austin Drury replaced Carrillo and he pitched two scoreless innings. Drury
As noted above, on Tuesday Liput homered twice, one with a runner on base. That was enough for the Loons to take the game.
Pioneer-Rookie Ogden
The Raptors could not complete their comeback losing to Rockies 8-7 at Grand Junction. Falling behind by three runs, the Raptors could only score twice to produce that final score.
Matt Cogen had three hits including a home run with three runs batted in. Jefrey Souffront
Joel Inoa gave up all eight runs in his four innings pitched and Inoa took the loss.
Arizona-Rookie AZL Dodgers
The AZL Dodgers scored runs enough to win 2-1 over the AZL Padres One on Sunday. Braydon Fisher started and pitched two scoreless innings.
Guillermo Zuniga pitched 1⅔ innings in relief and got the win.
