With Kenley Jansen hitting the DL, the Dodgers are currently trying to figure out who will be closing games out in the ninth inning. With a handful of options, LA has recalled switch-pitcher Pat Venditte.
Venditte is listed as a reserve.

For Venditte, this will mark his seventh time he has been called up, which leads the team.
Hopefully he didn’t unpack his bags, as this will be his second time being called up this week. The Dodgers called Venditte up on August 7 after Alex Wood was placed on the DL. His big-league stint was short-lived, as he was optioned back down two days later.
Venditte has appeared in five games with the Dodgers this season. In 4 1⁄3 innings he’s allowed four earned runs and eight hits.
Though his resume for the season hasn’t been impressive, he’s been thriving in the minors. With Oklahoma City, Venditte is 4-2 with a 1.68 ERA in 42 appearances. In 48 1⁄3 innings he has 59 strikeouts and 14 walks.
In his minor-league career, Venditte has 58 saves, including four this season with Oklahoma City. In his major-league career he has zero.
